It is quite amazing to believe we have come this far without that Verizon or Motorola as much as the recognition of the Droid 2′s existence, but if it leaks on a weekly basis, the traditional marketing needs? Greg attentive reader from North Carolina tells us his local Best Buy has leaked dummy units on the shelves, and lo and behold, there is a set of price tags next to them. As originally rumored phone will start at $ 199 and $ 599 with carrier subsidies should you choose to cart home without a plan in tow. Still no solid confirmation of the August 12 release date, but at this rate, we expect the handset is sold out before Verizon’s PR team breathes a word. Spot the full image after the break.
Update: On a related note, the original droid is now “sold out” on Verizon’s website.
Update 2: Oh what the hell, let in an official “coming soon” Droid 2 Advertising complement its way into the newspapers.
