We already had a pretty good indication that Motorola was shifting its strategy when it came to MOTO BLUR, and it seems that co-CEO Sanjay Jha has finally made the move official. Speaking of Q2 the company earnings call, Jha said that while MOTO BLUR will continue to be included in a number of phones, Motorola has decided that it will “focus on the value proposition of products and not MOTO BLUR as a brand in its own right.” Jha went on to explain that “the possibility of the value proposition around MOTO BLUR market is not easy to do in a 30-second ad spot”, but stressed that “MOTO BLUR remains an important issue,” and added that he thinks “you will see more functionality in MOTO BLUR” – you just do not see the name MOTO BLUR much more in public.
